Class Action Lawsuit Targets Chinese-Made Laminate Flooring

Liquid lumber is an American manufacturer of wood-flooring products, including engineered wood floorboards, hardwood floor, bamboo floor, cork floor and floating floors, as well as other floor supplies and accessories. It offers a complete line of wood floors, from pre-finished floorboards to unfinished floorboards, in a variety of wood species such as maple, oak, birch, ash, bamboo and mahogany. The company has been in business since 1892, and it prides itself on providing customers with a wide range of wood-flooring choices. The floors are made by using reclaimed or recycled wood fibers, which the company says is as natural as wood can be.

The company offers an extensive selection of wood floors, which are engineered and finished to a high quality standard. All of their floors are labeled for both Class A and Class B use. The company also offers a full line of hardwood floors, which come in a variety of species. Hardwood floors are easy to install and maintain, and they last for many years. The class action lawsuit is against Liquid Lumber, Inc., for releasing Class A mineral oil into groundwater.

Between January and May of this year, the company sold nearly nine million pounds of wood floor products, including floorboards, planks, floating floors and other hardware. In addition, they had over six million square feet of lumber liquidated during the same period. It is not clear whether the liquidation was due to the Class A lawsuit, or some other reason. The company did not respond to requests for comment.

The liquidation included a large number of floors, including a large portion of their morning star floorboards. The company has previously sold its furniture collection through U.S. penny savers. Liquid lumber, Inc., also has a presence in Canada. In the United States, the company markets a variety of products, including cabinets and bookcases.

This is the first case involving Chinese-made floorings and an involuntary Class A settlement. Liquid lumber was sold in a large quantity and contained a high level of formaldehyde. The liquid contained the chemical at a level that could cause health problems and may have also formed a carcinogen. The company advertised its wood flooring as “World’s Wood Flooring,” but did not provide documentation to back up the claim.

There were no significant problems identified with this form of flooring. However, the liquid lumber was one of the most expensive types of flooring available, and it is likely that the amount of formaldehyde contained within each unit was much higher than the average amount. The Class A settlement does not indicate an amount for future compensation; however, the plaintiffs hope to receive monetary damages that will give them a source of revenue to offset any future losses, such as the costs associated with replacing their damaged floors. This settlement marks the first time that a Chinese-made laminate floor has been found to contain formaldehyde.
